10 random bits of my life this fortnight

Hi. Well. I am not going to be like one of those people who are all like "Oh my gosh, I am so so sorry I haven't posted, I feel awful, but I have just been so so busy, excuse, excuse....", because that just gets boring after a while. Actually I am very guilty of doing that when I forgot to post everyday in advent for Christmas 2015. But whatever. I am just going to say that I actually have nothing interesting to post except some random thoughts/reviews/life stuff that I have scribbled down or thought of over the past few days, with some equally mundane pictures. So I made it into a 10 things post. Congratulations in advance if you manage to read this all word for word.

1. I watched the ballet A Winters Tale a few days ago. Christopher Weeldon's choreography is always interesting and I love the whole classical feeling in Act 2, but not classical if you get what I mean. More contemporary with flexed feet in random places. Very technical terminology that!
Plus Edward Watson and Lauren Cuthbertson dance amazingly together, they create such feeling.

2. We were walking the other day when, surprise! We found a dead log that someone had painted....

3. Thoughts about - Cheerleader by Pentatonix

1. I never really liked the original of this song by OMI but with Pentatonix's fresh new take I love it!

2. The setting for the music video is awesome with just the right sort of vibe for the band and the song - Fresh, cute, funky taken old school.

3. Oh and one last thing I just HAVE to say: Kevin is literally a one-man band, I swear.

Here is a link to the video, please watch, these guys are awesome.
All views and opinions are my own, I really do think Pentatonix are awesome.

4. I have posted pictures of this coffee shop before at Christmas and again here so I am giving it it's very own label the hot chocolate shop!

5. A dragon doodle. But isn't it cute?!

6.  I took this when I was out with Jess and she was like so embarrassed I was taking pictures of rooftops, like "I don't know this person"!! *Sorry Jess*!!

7. Thanks to Duolingo I can now say in French - I am a snake! Hmm can't think of any situation where I would need to say that? Unless I was like an evil villain, mwah ha ha I am sneaky, I am a snake, Je suis un serpent!! Please do not analyse my stupid train of thought....

8. Cupcakes! My lil sister made these.

Things you should say to your cupcake before eating it according to the wisdom of a 9 year old:

1. What's your name?

2. Do you want to be eaten?

3. Tough luck, I need some sugar

Ok I added that last one.

9. These are a few pictures from that family day out that I mentioned. I haven't got round to editing the others yet, but should do soon.

10. Why is the 10th thing always the hardest to think of? I will just finish with an old photo that 11 year old me took for this post and I felt needed a 2nd chance x

Hey, so here is my amazing 10 things!! Here you go!:

10 random things that I thought today!!

1. Why are sheep soooooo fluffy and we are not?! I mean it's not fair!!

2. Why your stomach rumbles when everything is quite?! I mean why?!

3. How come trees can't speak?!

4. Why does your phone always die when you NEED to use it?!

5. How come bus doors always close on your rucksack?!

6. When you cut worms in half (not saying that I do!) why do you still have 2 alive worms?! I mean if you cut us in half we do not duplicate, so why do they?!

7. How come we don't have tails?! Why I thought that, I don't know!!

8. Why are people sooooo accessed with tractors?! (Not like I have a problem with them or anything!!)

9. Do clouds go grey when they are unhappy?!

10.  How come it takes so long to do 10 things?!

So I hope that you enjoyed that, it was surprisingly fun to write!! And now I know how weird I am!! But I know that you guys already knew!!! But for now,

BYE!!!!

Hope you found that funny, I will be posting mine soon as I get my brain to think of 10 things! x

500 words

Phew that's over. 500 words I mean. The deadline has passed. Submit button been pressed and all is fine. Or at least until the whole "oh my gosh was my story really truly good enough" thing kicks in.
I am not giving any spoilers about what my story is about but I can tell you what it is not about.
Basically I had a story idea. It was going to be the most amazing book of all time....I wrote pages and pages on this subject and everyone I showed it to thought it was really good - not bragging or anything though. So when 500 words came around this year, I was like "why shouldn't I enter it, since it is my last year before I am too old, I may as well go out with a kabam".
I wrote it up on my laptop, tweaking it to fit the requirements. The only problem was that no matter how hard I tweaked or how much I cut out, the characters refused to be cut down to 500 words.
This has happened to me in every single year of me entering 500 words.
In the end I wrote a brand new story on a totally different subject, like 4 hours before the deadline.
It is good-ish (or at least I think it is?!) but it meant me giving up on a few awesome ideas from the last story, that I will tell you because all they will do otherwise is sit on my shelf;

A Jack Sparrow like character who is one of the leaders of a global gang of highwaymen in the sky.

A teenage stowaway and his lil sister

A girl power kind of tough girl figure who fly's after her kidnapped brother

An evil dude with many faces who has fingers in all the major cites of the world apart from one

Good guys being forced to be bad guys and hunt other good guys including the only two people
who could possibly stop this evil dude.

Magical ponies flying through the sky....

Actually no, not that last one. All those things don't sound very impressive when written down like that....but I promise they do all work together but it is too complicated to break down. *sorry*.

Did anybody else enter 500 words? See you soon x

Post ideas that failed drastically

Hi, so this question is directed to all those other bloggers that I know are out there.

Do you ever have an amazing idea, then write it up and it sucks?

You know when you think "this is going to be sooo amazing" and then you write it and you basically made yourself sound like the world biggest idiot?

Or is this just me?

I do this so much.... here are some of my failed blogging ideas

History of nail polish
    That was just too boring.

My take on various slogans
That was never going to work out right!

Styling 60's mini skirts
This didn't work because I don't actually own a 60's mini, which was kind of a key part.

Pantomime review
Cause your not allowed to take pictures at a pantomime so it would just have been me laughing at stuff and no one else would get why it was funny.

Kylo Ren fan thing
Mainly because I thought no one would comment/share or think it was a good idea!

People getting stupid over celebs
I might still do this actually!

Honey I shrunk the kids review
I thought the movie was too old and it would be boring

10 things people thought I said but I didn't
I got this idea after Jess thinking I said something totally different to what I actually did say.
The idea didn't work out though so I put it as number 4 on this post instead.

So is this just me who gets stuck?
I will see you soon with some cute pictures I took over the last few days x

So we will let our dreams take flight and our hearts ignite

Hi, for my last half term post I have a playlist for you. It is a bit...calmer (?) then my last playlist.

Keeping Your Head Up - Birdy
This is a step away from Birdy's normal style, but I think it works and I really like it!

Believe - Shawn Mendes
It is well worth checking out the music video for this, cause it is so insanely sweet!

2 Poor Kids - Ruth B
Different from "Lost Boy" but still gorgeous in its own way.

Brand New Day - Bryan Adams

Big World - Stevie McCrorie

One Call Away - Charlie Puth
Again this music video is THE SWEETEST THING.

Please Don't Say You Love Me - Gabrielle Aplin

Thinking Out Loud - Jasmine Thompson
Basically anything by this girl, look her up, her covers are stunning.

Today we had a family day out, so I have some pictures that I will share with you in the next few days, look out for them. Have a great day tomorrow and see you soon x

The best movies to watch by yourself (according to me)

You know when you are at home alone except for your older brother and that doesn't count because he is upstairs working? So the only logical thing to do is watch movies, obviously. Here are the movies I like to watch by myself:

1. Breakfast at Tiffany's
Or anything Audrey Hepburn related really.

2. Jane Austen films
What I mean by this is movies based on Jane Austen's books, not like she is the director or anything.... Pride and Prejudice and Emma are two of my favourites.

3. Harry Potter
Uhem, obvious....

4. Star Wars
Really? I wouldn't have ever guessed....for goodness sake I have a Star Wars label on my blog!!

5. The hobbit/Lord of the rings
Any of the six films, I don't really mind.

6. We bought a Zoo
This is just insanely cute and funny and adorable and basically one of the best films ever....

7. Any full length ballet
'cause no one apart from me ever wants to watch them, so perfect opportunity!

What do you watch when you are by yourself? See you tomorrow for the last half-term post, noo....x

To do or not to do Part 2

And yeah, I basically did just stick a Part 2 on the end because I can't think of another title.

Things to do in half term

Sing a Kaiser Chiefs Misery Company remix with your brother and lots of manic laughing. Ah good times.

Things not to do in half term

Look into your cats eyes and realise they look like the eye of Sauron from Lord Of The Rings and get creeped. Seriously this is not a good idea.

Get depressed about the awful weather. Instead try and picture the sea on a sunny day.... hmm my imagination doesn't seem to be working all that well....

Goosebumps, that diner#3 and cupcakes

So I spent the day today mostly in the company of Jess, you know, the 10 things gal' from Fairydancer8. First we went to see Goosebumps at the local cinema, it was kinda creepy at some parts, but overall it was just insanely hilarious. Here are some of my thoughts about it:

1. There were far too many lil' kids there and far too many zombies.

2. If you have to fall off the sofa in the middle of the movie, please do it quietly?!

3. A magic typewriter....you're kidding me?

4. There’s a killer poodle, need I say more....

5. Champ, oh Champ, basically he is totally awesome, in scaredy cat/sidekick/says such stupid things

6. Hannah, Zach and Champ make an awesome trio. Think Luke, Leia and Han.... or maybe not like that actually....Think 3 teenagers fighting monsters, being all cool and making sarcastic comments along the way....or at least 2 of them were being funny on purpose!

We went to the diner after that, which obviously meant pictures! This diner has featured in two of my posts already, here and here, so I decided not to take any pictures of the wall posters this time.

We talked about a new feature so I will be revealing that pretty soon. *Oooo so exciting*!

We went back to her house and made cupcakes, and I figured it would be rude not to post some pictures of them. Some things we found out whilst making them.

1. Things always take longer in the oven when you stand and watch them

2. I am rubbish at icing

3. Jess will constantly remind me that I am rubbish at icing

Bit of a mis-matched lot of waffle today! Congratulations if you got through all of that and see you again tomorrow. Millie x

To do or not to do....

Things to do in half term
Spend the morning on the sofa watching a documentary/film about Rudolph Nureyev followed by Breakfast at Tiffany's. Ahh, you should try this some time, it's really....relaxing....

Things you shouldn't do in half term
Go to the swimming pool when there is a "kids fun session" on. Seriously, they might be having fun, but I definately wasn't, sitting on the side waiting for the general swim to start, accompanied with screaming children and screaming toddlers and screaming adults....

Sorry I said I would have a more exciting post today but yh.... I have a more exciting day tomorrow, with some picture opportunities! See ya x

Tuesday 16 February 2016

10 things to talk about on a sleepover....

....and I have Molly to help me with this one! Just thought I would mention that....hey?!
These aren't the normal things to talk about either....

1. The over-priced-ness of shoes in general

2. The best non-gloopy nail varnish brand
What a stimulating conversation that was....!!

3. What exams you need to take to be a panda keeper....
Apart from biology we are not entirely sure.

4. Insoles, how long they take to be made, shoe types, sizes....blahblah

5. The best noise for an alarm clock
Basically not have an alarm clock in the first place.

6. Whether watching Star Wars is an essential part of growing up or not
You know what side I'm on for that argument!!

7. The best Web Cam Toy filters
Citrus is pretty cool but then so is comic strip!!

8. Who the best judge on the Voice is?

9. What kind of fingers you need to play the guitar....??

10. Do mushrooms need more respect??
This was my 8 year old cousins choice of subject, not me!!

So I am counting this within my "things to do on everyday of half term idea things" cause I don't have anything else to write for today that would be of any interest whatsoever to an outsider....sorry.
See you guys tomorrow, when hopefully my post will feature at least one tiny picture x

Monday 15 February 2016

Cold toes, milkshakes and Superman

Hi, today we went town, did boring things, went to the dentist, such like, then went to the diner with some friends for brunch. So I guess the "thing to do in half term" for this post is visiting café with friends! Took some cute photos - or tried to at least! Hope your half term is going awesome so far x

Fairydancer8: 10 of my favourite movies

10 of my favourite movies

But for now Farewell!

Hope you liked this post from Jess, look out for when I post mine. Millie x

Guess how much I love ya guys....

Happy Valentines day everyone!
So, is it weird I am "sending a valentines" to a bunch of people who read my blog but I know nothing about? Nah. Thanks for visiting my tiny, weird, corner of the internet! x

Playing the guitar whilst roller skating?

Learn a new skill.
The 8 days we have left is plenty enough time to learn a new skill or start a hobby. If you are stuck for ideas, I have listed a load of cool things I would like to do or have started already.

Learn to play an instrument
I can play the piano and have recently started guitar which is surprisingly easy. Once you have learnt the basics of any instrument, you can adapted pop songs to play and don't have to stick to Mozart if you don't want to! Try some Christina Perri or One Republic!

Roller Skating
I have wanted to have a go at this for ages!

Mend some clothes or make something new
It is so easy to make a simple bag but if you a feeling more adventurous, shift dresses are pretty easy as well.

Try painting or drawing
Loads of people give up at the first hurdle when their girls nose is too big, or the house they were drawing looks like a roof on sticks, but if you keep on trying you will get there in the end! Try reading books on how to draw and show your drawing to people, who can tell you what is wrong with them and how to make it better. You could even join a class if you have one nearby.

Sleepovers and movies

Soooo....you suddenly have 9 whole days of freedom before you, yay! And then you realise you have nothing to do. You text all your friends, but catching up with them isn't going to take 9 days. So what do you do? This series is going to hopefully give you some ideas - a few for each day!

1. Invite some friends over for a sleepover and movie night

Movie ideas
  • Have a Harry Potter-athon and watch all eight movies in a row! Ahh sounds amazing!         You could have a Star Wars-athon or a Hobbit/Lord of the rings-athon instead if you prefer!
  • Pop your own popcorn in a massive pan and then cover it in sugar/salt/butter/golden syrup....
  • Watch some old movies if you want something a bit different. I love Audrey Hepburn films, especially Breakfast at Tiffany's! I have the movie poster on my wall....
  • Snuggle up on the sofa in sleeping bags with hot chocolates.
  • If you have younger siblings and need a film that doesn't involve possessed dwarfs, teenage wizards or wookies wielding blasters, try Big Hero Six or Paddington, since you will enjoy them too!
Or....

2. Go and see a movie at the cinema, with your family or a bunch of friends. My family went to see Dads Army today and it was frankly awesome! So many famous faces and they each fitted their character perfectly. This movie is hilarious and the kinda film you can't stop quoting!!

Have fun, see you guys tomorrow x

Tuesday 9 February 2016

Yay pancake day/Shrove Tuesday

Hey, hope you had an amazing Shrove Tuesday, with a load of yummy pancakes!
Pancakes for lunch and pudding! Delicious. What are you giving up for Lent?
Sorry about the rubbish-ness of the photos....and by the way I couldn't think of a better title so, yay?! x

Monday 8 February 2016

10 weird things I wrote in my blogging ideas pad

1. Umm.... - what a waste of paper.

2. Juice box - WOW. My imagination is beyond even my own understanding sometimes.

3. Kylo-Ren - completely understandable.

4. Liar Liar - maybe I was angry? Or I could have been listening to that Avicii song.

5. Under the sea - who knows?

6. a-door-a-bull/adorable - hahahaha I'm sooo funny.... NOT??!!

7. Grape scented pencils - Ok hear me out on this! I was writing with my new Smiggle stuff.

8. Some day my prince will come - Can everyone please go aww.... Actually I had been watching Cinderella but whatever....

9. ManOhMan - No comment.

10. It was a fairy tale ending.... - continuing the Cinderella theme.

So there you have it? I'm not really sure what goes on in my head, but it provides entertainment! x

Alarm clocks

Hi, hey there. Don’t you just hate getting up on a bad weather morning, rain pouring down outside and then you all tucked up under the duvet as warm as a piece of toast and all snuggy and ahhhh…. But then the unavoidable happens and your alarm goes off....
